Demand for Apple’s new iPhone 18 lineup stays robust even amid economic headwinds and premium pricing, according to Globe Telecom Inc. “The demand is still there,” Jo Anne Pique, Globe’s postpaid business head, told reporters, noting financial pressures have not dampened interest in the latest models.
Pique said flexible payment and ownership options are helping keep devices accessible, including GPlan postpaid bundles, installment plans, special pricing for SIM-only subscribers, and trade-in offers. The goal is to make sure customers can get devices that let them fully experience Globe’s network capabilities, she added.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max launch carries major commercial weight for Globe’s postpaid segment, which counts roughly two million total subscribers—nearly half of whom use Apple devices. Pique described new iPhone releases as a key seasonal milestone for the business, given how strongly this user base anticipates each update.
Apple device subscribers also deliver higher average revenue per user compared to those on other brands, driven largely by the iPhone’s price point and the typically higher-income profile of its users.
The strong demand underscores the long-standing importance of the partnership between Globe and Apple, which dates back to 2008 when the two companies first brought the iPhone 3G to the Philippines, marking a turning point in local mobile technology.
