Singapore Air unveils next-gen long-haul cabins; over S$2 B invested for better travel

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has officially launched its brand-new next-generation long-haul cabin products, crafted around how passengers actually work, dine, relax, and rest in the air to deliver a more comfortable, personal, and intuitive journey. The investment totals more than S$2 billion across all four cabin classes—First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy—as part of the airline’s upgraded end-to-end travel experience.

Rollout will begin in the second half of 2027. The new products will be fitted on the airline’s incoming Boeing 777-9 fleet and 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 aircraft, including both long-haul and ultra-long-range versions. The A350-900ULR fleet will also welcome First Class cabins for the very first time, while all 41 refurbished A350s will receive the new Business Class seats.

In First Class, passengers will enjoy what is now the largest double bed in commercial aviation—80 inches long and 60 inches across when combined. Crew will convert the space into a full-flat bed dressed in 100 percent cotton linens, a duvet, and a choice of pillows, topped with a breathable temperature-regulating mattress topper from luxury bedding brand Paradies. Each suite also includes a large table that lets companions dine face-to-face together.

“Every cabin has its own design, but all share one goal: to make flying more comfortable, flexible, and rewarding for you,” said SIA Chief Commercial Officer Lee Lik Hsin. “Whether you’re working, eating, unwinding, or sleeping, our new cabins will help you travel better and feel more in control of your time on board.”

These products were shaped by input from more than 5,000 frequent flyers, customers, staff, and experts around the world, gathered through focus groups, interviews, surveys, and testing. The research confirmed what many travelers already want: more privacy, better comfort, easier-to-use features, greater flexibility, and a journey that feels tailored to them. SIA partnered with top design studios and seat manufacturers—including PriestmanGoode, Designworks, Factorydesign, Collins Aerospace, and RECARO Aircraft Seating—to turn those insights into reality.
