TV5 Network Inc. has partnered with the owners of Radio Philippines Network Inc. to launch RPTV, the newest free-to-air channel offering sports, news and entertainment in the country .
This develops on the heels of Nine Media Corp., franchise owner of CNN Philippines, ceased its operations only a day earlier on 31 January.
CNN Philippines used to air on RPN’s free tv Channel 9.
RPN is co-owned by Nine Media Corporation, Far East Managers and Investors Inc., the Government Communications Group under the Presidential Communication Operations Office, and several private stockholders.
RPTV becomes the new free-to-air home of the Philippine Basketball Association as it airs all PBA games live, including 3×3, D-League and more. Viewers can look forward to watching other sports offerings such as the Premiere Volleyball League and games of Gilas Pilipinas.
The new channel also engages audiences with an entertainment lineup that includes the top-rating daily noontime show EAT…Bulaga.
On weekends, RPTV viewers can look forward to various local comedy and action series shows and movies throughout the day, capping the weekend with Live Sports from 4PM-10PM.
Aside from sports and entertainment,RPTV viewers can look forward to starting their day with the popular news and public service show of Ted Failon and DJ Chacha. In the afternoon, the program Wanted Sa Radyo takes action on cases of exploitation and abuse with the help of Sen. Raffy Tulfo.

RPTVis available on Channel 9 Analog, Channel 19 DTT, Channel 18.3 DTT and over 300 cable and satellite providers nationwide, and streaming live via the Cignal Play OTT app.
