Cavitex Infrastructure partners with China Road and Bridge in Cavitex Segment 2 construction

Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC), under direct supervision by Malacanang, will work with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) in pursuing the second phase of the  CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2.

Segment 2 is a 1.9-kilometer, two-by-three lane expressway connecting CAVITEX R-1 (Coastal Road) from the Paranaque Toll Plaza to Sucat via the R-1 Interchange. It will cut travel time to Sucat Road from CAVITEX R-1 and vice versa to only 10 minutes.

“The CAVITEX C5 Link is a vital segment of the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway Project (MCTEP). So far, we managed to open 3.8-kilometer (Segment 3A1 and 3A2) to the motoring public, serving more than 16,000 vehicles daily,” Raul Ignacio, president and general manager at CIC, said.

“Still, we have a long way to go. This is something we cannot do alone, hence our search for a contractor that would be up for the task-delivering world-class quality infrastructure for our motorists within our timeline. We are glad that our new partner China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), took on the challenge,” he added.

CIC and CRBC target to start phase 2 of the construction for the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 within the first quarter this year and open the facility to the public before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the construction of Segment 3-B from Sucat to E. Rodriguez (RSG Subdivision), according to the CIC project timeline, begins around the third quarter this year.

CAVITEX C5 Link project is a 7.7-kilometer two-by-three lane expressway that connects CAVITEX R1 to C5 Road in Taguig. It is seen to serve 40,000 vehicles per day: reduce travel time to Makati and Taguig from Parañaque City, Las Pinas City, and Cavite Province by forty-five (45) minutes; and decongest traffic in Metro Manila.

Aside from the CAVITEX and its C5 Link Segment, the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.’s  tollways portfolio includes the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), the NLEX Connector Road, and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
