Aerospace engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Canada (PWC) recently held its Customer Day Roadshow in partnership with INAEC Aviation Corporation in Manila. The event attracted representatives from the largest general aviation operators in the Philippines, marking the second of two roadshows in PWC’s Asia-Pacific tour this year.
The focus of the event was on the PT6 engine series, renowned as one of the most successful general aviation engines globally, utilized in both civilian and military aircraft. INAEC, a long-time user of the PT6-powered Beechcraft King Air since the 1990s, was chosen to host the Philippine leg of the roadshow.
Participants received updates on customer support services, engine maintenance solutions, and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). Notably, PWC announced that its engines are capable of operating on a 50/50 blend of SAF and conventional Jet A1 fuel without requiring additional maintenance.
The PWC team also unveiled maintenance management programs designed to optimize planning, reduce aircraft downtime, and minimize costs. Topics such as bird strikes and foreign object debris (FOD) damage were addressed, highlighting their prevalence in the aviation sector.
“In today’s environment — marked by supply chain disruptions and fluctuating oil prices—these topics are timely,” said Rakesh Misir, senior regional manager of PWC Asia Pacific. “The programs we offer are particularly beneficial, providing operators with essential protection against inflation and stabilizing operational expenses in a volatile market.”
Dexter Ampong, general manager of INAEC, expressed pride in hosting the roadshow, emphasizing the shared commitment to enhancing safety and technical expertise within the aviation community. “Events like this underscore our common goals and strengthen our bonds,” he said.
In August, INAEC also hosted the kickoff for PWC’s roadshow series in the Philippines, which centered on helicopter engines and focused on maintenance practices suited for the region’s challenging tropical environment.
