Globe strengthens sustainability leadership through Green Network Index participation

Globe has solidified its position as a leader in environmental responsibility by participating in the inaugural Green Network Index (GNI) study, launched by GSMA Intelligence (GSMAi). As one of only six telecom companies globally to engage in the project, Globe underscores its commitment to driving greener networks and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the telecommunications industry.

This involvement highlights Globe’s dedication to sustainability, with the company actively contributing to research aimed at shaping a more sustainable telecom sector. Globe’s efforts reflect its commitment to the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and the broader global push for energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption. As telecom operators face rising energy costs and increasing pressure for transparent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting, the GNI provides valuable insights for improving network sustainability and achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions.

By supporting GSMAi’s sustainability research, Globe is driving meaningful change within the telecom industry, enhancing its green innovation leadership while influencing the global transition to sustainable telecom practices.
