Cebu Pacific (CEB) reported carrying 2.4 million passengers in May, marking a 21.7 percent year-on-year increase, as the airline continues to capitalize on strong travel demand across both domestic and international routes.
Seat capacity rose 21.3 percent, while the airline maintained an improved seat load factor (SLF) of 86.4 percent, up slightly from 86.2 percent in May 2024. Domestic traffic rose 19.9 percent on a 19.7 percent increase in seats, achieving a strong SLF of 91 percent. International traffic saw even stronger gains, with a 27.5 percent rise in passenger numbers on 25.7 percent more seats, lifting SLF to 75 percent.
For the year to date, CEB has flown 11.7 million passengers—a 23.7 percent increase over the 9.4 million carried during the same period in 2024. Domestic passengers reached 8.7 million (+23.2 percent), while international volumes climbed to 3 million (+24.9 percent). Overall SLF for the period averaged 85 percent on a 23.1 percent capacity expansion to 13.7 million seats.
“Passenger traffic continued to see high year-on-year growth through the first five months of 2025,” said Cebu Pacific CEO Mike Szucs, noting that “seat load factor is tracking ahead of last year reflecting robust air travel as additional capacity continues to be absorbed by demand.”
Szucs reaffirmed the airline’s strategic focus on aligning capacity with demand while managing ongoing engine and supply chain challenges.
Cebu Pacific currently serves 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
