Alternergy acquires 2 Quezon wind projects

Alternergy Holdings Corp., a listed green energy company, is acquiring two wind power projects in Quezon Province—Tayabas North and Tayabas South—from CleanTech Global Renewables Inc., further expanding its renewable energy portfolio in the Philippines.

Alternergy disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange that its special purpose vehicle, Calavite Passage Wind Power Corp. will acquire the project assets, permits, and contracts under a Deed of Assignment from CleanTech. The projects are covered by separate Wind Energy Service Contracts awarded by the Department of Energy.

The Tayabas North Wind Energy project has an estimated capacity of at least 96 megawatts.

“We are excited to develop our second wind project in Quezon Province after our 64MW Alabat Wind Project is completed in early 2026,” said Alternergy President Gerry P. Magbanua, praising local government support under Governor Helen Tan.

CleanTech CEO Salvador Antonio Castro Jr. welcomed the partnership. “We look forward to co-developing these wind projects with Alternergy, the pioneer in wind energy in the country,” he said. CleanTech will retain an equity stake in both projects, with an option to co-invest further.

Mabuhay Capital served as financial advisor to the transaction. The asset transfer remains subject to Department of Energy regulatory approval.
