Megawide Construction Corp. said it has received the Notice of Award designating the company as the private sector proponent for the P1.8-billion Baguio City Integrated Terminal (BCIT) Project. The notice was issued by the Office of the Mayor of Baguio City.
The award is subject to Megawide’s compliance with all terms and conditions set by the local government.
First proposed in 2019 by Megawide—the same firm behind the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX)—the BCIT aims to be a major transport hub for northbound and southbound public transport. It will centralize provincial buses entering Baguio via Marcos Highway and serve as a transfer point for passengers connecting to in-city transport options.
Located approximately 45 kilometers from the city center along Palispis Highway, the terminal will span over five hectares. It is set to feature dedicated loading and unloading bays, a staging area for buses, passenger waiting lounges, commercial spaces, public parking for park-and-ride commuters, and designated green zones.
Megawide said the project is designed to help decongest Baguio’s city center by relocating provincial bus operations to the outskirts, while improving commuter experience and boosting connectivity across the region.
The BCIT is part of Megawide’s broader strategy to develop modern, multi-modal transport infrastructure in key urban areas, complementing its previous work on integrated terminals and airport projects.
