Leading data center operators in the Philippines have officially united under the newly formed Data Center Operators of the Philippines (DCPH), aiming to position the country as Southeast Asia’s next digital hub. The alliance was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing, attended by representatives from VITRO Inc., ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (Philippines), YCO Cloud, Digital Edge Philippines, Digital Halo, and A-FLOW.
Collectively representing 473MW of IT power capacity, the DCPH will serve as a unified voice for the Philippine data center industry, fostering collaboration across stakeholders and allied sectors. The group plans to advance infrastructure and innovation, work with the power sector to secure competitive rates and renewable energy access, and partner with telcos to improve connectivity. It will also engage with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to promote supportive policies, including data localization, while developing local talent to meet rising demand for hyperscale, AI, and other next-generation technologies.
Highlighting national security and economic competitiveness, the DCPH emphasized that data localization is critical for public sector data, noting that neighboring countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia have already implemented similar measures. By keeping government data within the country, the alliance argues, the Philippines can attract cloud and AI investments, enhance infrastructure resilience, and strengthen its regional digital standing.
As global digital transformation and AI adoption accelerate, industry experts view the formation of DCPH as a pivotal step toward a future-ready, globally competitive digital economy anchored by robust data center infrastructure.
