NU expands campuses to meet growing student demand

National University (NU), part of the SM Group, is expanding four of its campuses—Clark (Pampanga), Mall of Asia (Pasay), Fairview (Quezon City), and its main campus in Sampaloc, Manila—to accommodate more students and meet rising demand for accessible, quality education. The move coincides with NU’s 125th anniversary, reinforcing its mission to provide career-ready learning close to Filipino communities.

NU president Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr. highlighted Clark as the fastest-growing campus in the 2024–2025 academic year. The expansions include new academic towers, additional classrooms and laboratories, a learning resource center, and an auditorium across the campuses. Programs in Engineering, Architecture, Tourism, Psychology, and Accountancy are among those benefiting from the upgrades.

Since joining the SM Group in 2008, NU has leveraged SM developments to create safe and convenient campus environments, offering students easy access to transport, bookstores, and dining. NU currently serves over 83,000 students across 14 campuses and aims to reach 100,000 by 2027, with new campuses planned in Davao, Iloilo, and Urdaneta.

NU also continues to focus on academic excellence and scholarship support. Over 570 full scholars are currently enrolled through partnerships with SM Foundation, with plans to double that number this year. The university recently received a QS 3 Stars overall rating, including 5 Stars in Employability, and appears in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for key Sustainable Development Goals.

Founded in 1900, NU remains committed to delivering “Education That Works,” expanding its reach nationwide to provide industry-aligned, affordable learning opportunities.
