Rising road use lifts NLEX Corp. profit to P10.34 billion

NLEX Corp. reported a 20 percent increase in net income for the first nine months of 2025, driven by higher traffic volumes and toll adjustments. The company, which operates the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), posted a net income of P10.34 billion from January to September, up from P8.65 billion in the same period last year. Toll revenues also rose 17 percent to P21.89 billion from P18.6 billion, reflecting higher average vehicular traffic and toll rate adjustments implemented in March and September.

Average daily traffic in NLEX reached 350,931 vehicles, up 1 percent from last year, while SCTEx saw a 2 percent increase to 80,349 vehicles per day. The NLEX Connector continued to grow, averaging 20,681 daily vehicle entries, 9 percent higher than last year, supported by ongoing promotional initiatives.

NLEX Corp. ‘s network, spanning approximately 105 kilometers and 598 lane-kilometers, serves as a key transport artery linking Metro Manila to central and northern Luzon. SCTEx, a 91-kilometer, 362 lane-kilometer expressway connecting Subic, Clark, and Tarlac, facilitates access to major economic zones.

The company has operated NLEX since 2005 following its rehabilitation under the NLEX Concession Phase I, while SCTEx was completed in 2008 through Official Development Assistance from Japan.

The financial growth underscores NLEX Corp.’s strategic role in regional connectivity and its capacity to generate stable revenue from toll operations amid rising traffic demand.
