Repower Energy Development Corp. (REDC) has purchased a 95 percent stake in Maramag Hydropower Corp. (MHC), the developer of the proposed 25-MW Pulangi IV hydropower project in Maramag, Bukidnon. The deal, disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Wednesday, covers 32.19 million common shares worth ₱32.19 million.
The Pulangi IV project, valued at ₱6.3 billion, will tap the Pulangi River—downstream of REDC’s ongoing 18.2-MW Cabanglasan project, also in Bukidnon. REDC president Eric Roxas said the acquisition strengthens the company’s push to expand renewable and locally sourced hydropower in Mindanao.
REDC is also building the 4.5-MW Piapi project in Quezon Province, set for completion by end-2027, and plans to begin construction on four more hydropower projects worth a combined ₱10.3 billion in the coming months.
The company’s existing hydropower portfolio includes projects in Quezon, Bicol, and Laguna. REDC serves as the hydropower arm of Pure Energy Holdings Corp.
