    PAL expands Airbus maintenance deal

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has signed an expanded maintenance support agreement with Airbus covering 63 aircraft in its fleet.

Under the updated Flight Hour Services (FHS) contract, Airbus will provide technical and component support for nine A350-1000 aircraft, 11 A330 Family aircraft and 43 A320 Family aircraft. The support includes component exchanges and repairs, reliability and engineering services, and on-site spare parts at PAL’s main base in Manila.

PAL said the agreement will help improve aircraft availability, boost operational reliability and give the airline more predictable maintenance costs.

PAL and Airbus have worked together under FHS since 2018, when the service was first introduced for the airline’s A350-900 fleet. The partnership was expanded in 2022 to include the A320 and A330 fleets.

Airbus Asia-Pacific President Anand Stanley said the expanded agreement reflects the strong partnership between the two companies and their shared focus on operational performance. He added that the on-site support in Manila will help PAL optimise fleet performance while managing long-term maintenance costs.

Airbus Flight Hour Services offers maintenance solutions that allow airlines to pay based on aircraft usage, helping reduce operating costs and improve efficiency.
