Fuel prices climbed again this week, marking the sixth straight week of increases for gasoline and the seventh consecutive week for diesel and kerosene in 2026.
Oil companies will raise pump prices by P1.20 per liter for gasoline and P0.60 per liter for both diesel and kerosene starting Tuesday morning. Firms such as Seaoil, PTT and Jetti will implement the adjustments at 6 a.m., while Caltex will follow at 6:01 a.m.
With the latest hike, gasoline prices have risen by a total of P4.20 per liter since the start of the year. Diesel prices are up by P7 per liter, while kerosene has increased by P5 per liter.
Data from the Department of Energy show that as of February 10 to 16, 2026, pump prices in the National Capital Region average P53.50 per liter for RON 91 gasoline, P56 per liter for diesel, and P82.87 per liter for kerosene.
Industry officials said global factors continue to push oil prices higher. Jetti Petroleum president Leo Bellas earlier cited trading volatility linked to tensions between the United States and Iran, including sanctions and supply disruptions. He added that competition for compliant oil supplies and stronger regional demand ahead of the Lunar New Year have also supported higher prices.
Bellas noted that the stronger Philippine peso helped temper what could have been even sharper increases.
Amid the continuing hikes, the Department of Energy urged motorists to take advantage of fuel company promotions. Some stations offer discounts of P0.50 to P3 per liter for public utility vehicles, as well as loyalty discounts for private vehicle owners.
The sustained increases mean higher transport and operating costs for consumers and businesses, adding pressure to household budgets as fuel expenses continue to rise.
