A local fuel retailer said pump prices are expected to go down again next week, with gasoline possibly dropping by ₱2 to ₱3 per liter and diesel by as much as ₱18 to ₱20 per liter.
The projection is based on recent global oil price trends using the Mean of Platts Singapore benchmark, driven by easing tensions in the Middle East and improving prospects for diplomatic talks, including ceasefire negotiations.
For April 7 to 13, 2026 data from the Department of Energy (DOE), fuel prices in Metro Manila average about ₱94.50 per liter for RON 91 gasoline, ₱153.70 for diesel, and ₱163.10 for kerosene.
The DOE also announced that its ₱10 per liter fuel subsidy for eligible jeepney and UV Express drivers in Metro Manila is now being implemented in 46 gasoline stations.
These stations are located along key transport routes including Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon Avenue–España, Marcos Highway, A. Bonifacio Avenue, Rizal Avenue, and Zapote Road.
The subsidy is automatically applied when qualified vehicles refuel using the Land Bank mobile platform linked to LTFRB-validated accounts. Transactions are tracked in real time to ensure proper discounting and monitoring.
Energy officials said the program is meant to reduce fuel costs for drivers, help stabilize transport operations, and ease fare pressures on commuters. It will also be expanded to other parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in future rollout phases once routes are finalized.
