Mynt warns public vs. Fake “pre-sale” of shares online

Mynt, the parent company of GCash, has warned the public against social media posts and messages claiming to offer “early access” or “pre-sale” of its shares.

In an advisory issued Wednesday, Mynt said it has not authorized any public offering of its shares. The company stressed that any communication promoting early investment opportunities is unauthorized and fraudulent.

Mynt also clarified that it has not filed any registration documents with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission or the Philippine Stock Exchange.

The company said that if it decides to offer securities in the future, it will follow all applicable laws and regulations.

Mynt urged the public to stay vigilant, avoid clicking suspicious links, and refrain from sharing personal information or sending money to unverified entities.

Those who encounter suspicious posts or investment schemes may report them through the official GCash Help Center via the app or by contacting Gigi through the GCash website. Reports may also be filed with the SEC’s Enforcement and Investor Protection Department.
