The Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus program has surpassed P1 billion in member discounts, marking a milestone that highlights the growing role of the government-run savings fund in helping Filipino workers stretch their everyday budgets.
Data from Pag-IBIG Fund show total discounts reached P1.01 billion, generated through 30.7 million transactions since the program began. The milestone reflects the rapid expansion of its partner network, which now covers 507 establishments nationwide.
Launched in 2014 as the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card, the program was initially designed to give members access to discounts and special offers from partner merchants. It was upgraded in 2019 to the Loyalty Card Plus, adding cash card functions through Asia United Bank and UnionBank of the Philippines.
The upgrade enabled members to receive loan proceeds and access basic banking services through the same card.
Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling, chair of the Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, said the program shows how government and private businesses can work together to deliver practical benefits to workers.
“Especially at a time of global uncertainty, when every peso counts, this program helps our members make the most of their hard-earned income,” Aliling said. He added that the initiative supports the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to ensure government services provide meaningful assistance to Filipinos.
The card now unlocks discounts across multiple sectors, including 189 health and medicine partners, 114 food and grocery outlets, and 20 housing-related establishments, among others.
Geographically, the network spans 162 partners in Metro Manila, 155 across Luzon, 55 in the Visayas, and 85 in Mindanao.
Pag-IBIG chief executive Marilene C. Acosta said the agency is preparing the program’s next phase with the planned rollout of the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus Digital within the year—expanding access while advancing the government’s push for broader financial inclusion.
