DigiPlus holds line amid shifting landscape

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. delivered a steady, if unspectacular, performance in 2025, with net income holding flat at P12.6 billion despite regulatory headwinds and intensifying competition.

The company, which operates popular platforms such as BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, posted a 12 percent increase in total revenues to P84.2 billion, up from P75.2 billion in 2024. Strong first-half momentum helped cushion the impact of regulatory changes later in the year, including the third-quarter delinking of e-wallet access to licensed gaming apps.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) edged up two percent to P14.2 billion, reflecting disciplined cost controls and targeted operational adjustments.

Chairman Eusebio Tanco underscored the group’s resilience, citing “disciplined execution” and sustained user trust as key drivers amid an evolving industry environment.

Still, cracks emerged in the fourth quarter. Net income fell 36 percent year-on-year to P2.5 billion, while revenues dropped 27 percent to P17.3 billion. Sequentially, however, profitability improved, with net income climbing 43 percent quarter-on-quarter as the company recalibrated operations and tightened expenses.

DigiPlus also reinforced its role as a major fiscal contributor, remitting P34.6 billion in taxes and regulatory fees—funds that support public services and infrastructure development.

Backed by a robust P23.4 billion cash position and minimal debt, the company declared P3.8 billion in dividends, marking its third consecutive annual payout.

DigiPlus is expanding beyond digital. A HKD1.6 billion investment in International Entertainment Corp. signals a strategic push into land-based gaming via the New Coast Hotel Manila, positioning the firm to bridge online and offline experiences.

Despite near-term pressures, DigiPlus appears well-placed to navigate regulatory shifts while pursuing long-term growth.
