NAIA expects over 1.35 million travelers during Holy Week rush

The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) is expecting more than 1.35 million passengers to pass through Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during the Holy Week travel period from March 28 to April 5.

The projected total of 1,353,265 passengers is slightly higher than last year’s 1.33 million travelers during the same period. However, NNIC said growth is lower than earlier forecasts due to some flight suspensions and restrictions affecting Middle East routes.

To handle the surge, airport management has added more staff at check-in, immigration, and security areas, extended help desk hours, and is closely coordinating with airlines and government agencies. These include the Department of Transportation, Manila International Airport Authority, Bureau of Immigration, Bureau of Customs, and Office for Transportation Security.

April 5 is expected to be the busiest day, with nearly 159,000 passengers, followed by March 28. Daily traffic is forecast to stay above 143,000.

Terminal 3 will handle the most यात्रers, followed by Terminals 2 and 1.

NNIC said improvements introduced since it took over operations in September 2024—such as better queue management, upgraded facilities, and improved coordination—aim to ease congestion and improve passenger experience.

Travelers are advised to check flight updates, arrive early, and complete eTravel registration in advance to avoid delays.
