DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the operator behind online gaming platforms BingoPlus, ArenaPlus, and GameZone, has secured regulatory approval to enter South Africa, marking a major step in its international expansion strategy.
The company has been granted licenses by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB), clearing the way for operations in one of Africa’s most active regulated gaming jurisdictions.
DigiPlus received approval for three key permits: a National Manufacturer License, a Bookmaker License, and a Bookmaker Premises License.
The WCGRB oversees gambling regulation in the Western Cape province, widely regarded as the country’s largest online gaming hub and a key entry point for international operators due to its established regulatory framework and strong digital infrastructure.
The region accounted for roughly 31 percent of South Africa’s national online gaming revenues in 2025. South Africa’s online gaming industry is estimated to have generated around USD4.9 billion in revenue in 2025, making it the largest market of its kind on the African continent.
DigiPlus’ entry positions the company to tap into this growing sector as it seeks to diversify beyond Southeast Asia.
The move also follows DigiPlus’ earlier international expansion into Brazil, where the company is targeting the start of full commercial operations in the first half of 2026.
Together, the two markets form a dual-front overseas push that signals the company’s intent to scale its regulated gaming footprint across emerging economies.
DigiPlus said the approvals reinforce its commitment to operating under robust regulatory regimes while expanding access to its digital entertainment ecosystem. The company is expected to roll out localized offerings tailored to South African users once operational readiness and compliance requirements are completed.
