The Bank of the Philippine Islands strengthened its financial inclusion efforts through “Basta Babae, Wais!,” a one-day financial literacy program attended by more than 300 women in Barangay 176F, Caloocan City on March 25.
The initiative focused on teaching practical money management skills such as budgeting, saving, credit awareness, and fraud prevention. Women entrepreneurs from the community also shared how they built small businesses, offering real-life lessons and inspiration to participants.
BPI said the program aims to help women gain better control of their finances and improve the economic well-being of their families and communities. Participants were also introduced to banking and financial products, with many opening accounts and signing up for digital banking services such as VYBE by BPI.
The event highlights the growing role of financial education in empowering women and expanding access to formal banking services at the grassroots level.
