McDonald’s Philippines is ramping up its sustainability and active mobility campaign by backing the 2026 Tour of Luzon as the official meal provider of the country’s premier cycling event.
The fast-food giant said it will serve more than 8,000 meals across the race’s 14 stages, reinforcing its push to promote cycling as a practical and eco-friendly mode of transportation amid growing calls for greener urban mobility.
The initiative forms part of McDonald’s Philippines’ broader “Green and Good” sustainability program, which supports cycling infrastructure and environmentally conscious transport solutions.
To launch its participation, McDonald’s Philippines recently staged “The Heritage Ride,” an invitational cycling event attended by executives from McDonald’s Philippines, Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., and partner organizations.
The ride started at CaSoBē in Calatagan, Batangas, and featured a designated feed zone at the McDonald’s branch in Balayan. Cyclists completed a 60.4-kilometer route highlighting the company’s bike-friendly initiatives.
“Active mobility is an important part of McDonald’s Philippines’ commitment to sustainability under our Green and Good program,” said Margot Torres, managing director of McDonald’s Philippines.
“Through our support for the prestigious Tour of Luzon, we hope to highlight the benefits of cycling as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective mode of transport, especially during these challenging times,” she added.
Under the Green and Good initiative, McDonald’s has rolled out bike-friendly features in select stores, including Bike & Dine stations where cyclists can safely park their bicycles, rest, and access basic repair kits.
The company has also expanded its cycling advocacy through “Ride the Arches,” launched in 2023, which encourages cyclists to travel between participating McDonald’s branches that serve as pit stops and feed zones.
