NorthPort is making steady headway on its three-year terminal upgrade program, advancing rehabilitation works to strengthen port infrastructure and support the Philippines’ growing trade demands.
The port operator reported completing several key testing and installation milestones last month, with construction on the first 40-meter segment at Pier 16 ongoing since April 2026 within the project’s 100-meter work area.
Pile Dynamic Analysis testing confirmed that test piles met the required design load, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards for the rehabilitation program.
At Terminal 1, underdeck repairs, wharf structure rehabilitation, and asset tagging continue, aimed at improving long-term asset management and operational reliability.
These efforts are proceeding alongside piling and testing operations to maintain momentum without compromising safety or quality.
NorthPort said the current phase remains on track for completion by the end of June 2026, while the full three-year program is slated for completion by the end of 2027.
The modernization initiative is designed to enhance structural integrity and operational readiness amid rising cargo volumes and evolving logistics demands.
It is part of NorthPort’s broader strategy to boost port efficiency, strengthen supply chain resilience, and support the country’s expanding trade and economic activity.
