Razon group extends aid to quake-hit areas in Mindanao

Companies under the Razon Group have mobilized relief efforts in Mindanao following the devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck the region on Monday, bringing much-needed assistance to communities heavily affected by the disaster.

The relief operation was led by Primelectric, ICTSI, and Manila Water, which spearheaded the distribution of cash assistance and essential relief supplies to local government units in Sarangani, South Cotabato, and General Santos City.

The assistance was intended to support local governments and affected residents as they continue recovery and rehabilitation efforts in the aftermath of the powerful temblor.

Among the items that were quickly provided were fuel for generator sets to help restore critical services, bottled water, rice, canned goods, and other essential supplies for displaced families and communities. Manila Water deployed one of its Mobile Water Treatment Plants to the area while Primelectric distributed solar lamps and industrial fans to make it more convenient for those staying in evacuation centers.

The Razon Group’s response came amid ongoing relief and recovery operations across the region, where local authorities and humanitarian organizations have been working to address the immediate needs of affected residents.

Local officials expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that the assistance would help augment government resources and ensure that aid reaches communities hardest hit by the earthquake.

The relief efforts underscore the private sector’s commitment in complementing government disaster response, particularly during large-scale emergencies that require swift, coordinated action.
