West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. is on track to fully operate the P2.1 billion Anabu modular treatment plant (ModTP) by September and serve as a dedicated supply source for customers in Imus, Cavite.
The company soft launched the facility already producing 5.5 million liters per day (MLD) initially this month, or enough to supply the needs of more than 13,000 customers.
Seen fully operational after two months, the facility will treat and produce up to 16 MLD of potable water, enough to supply 114,000 Maynilad customers in Imus City.
The Anabu facility is one of four small-scale treatment plants Maynilad is constructing in Cavite that uses adjacent rivers as raw water source. Imus does not yet have 24-hour water supply due to its distance from Angat dam in Bulacan.
The facility also helps mitigate the impact of El Niño on water supply.
Maynilad is the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines in terms of customer base serving the cities of Manila, Quezon City, Makati, Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon as well as the cities of Cavite, Bacoor and Imus, and the towns of Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario in Cavite Province.
