A stronger push to address child malnutrition is underway in ABI Pascual Foods, Inc., as it teams up with the National Dairy Authority, the Department of Education, and the Sta. Rosa local government to roll out a 100-day milk feeding program for public school learners.
The initiative will benefit 500 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at Malitlit Elementary School in Sta. Rosa, with implementation set for September 2026. Running for 100 consecutive days, the program meets the minimum period required for Nutritional Status Evaluation, allowing participating agencies to closely monitor changes in height, weight, and broader health indicators among children.
Positioned under the NDA’s Private Sector-Funded Milk Feeding Program, the project marks ABI Pascual Foods as its first private-sector partner to scale up milk-feeding implementation—signaling a deeper push to expand access to nutrient-rich dairy in public schools.
ABI Pascual Foods board member Michael G. Tan said the initiative reflects a long-term commitment to child development and the local dairy sector, emphasizing that sustained nutrition programs require multi-sector collaboration to be effective.
For the NDA, the partnership also reinforces efforts to link nutrition programs with local dairy production, helping support Filipino farmers while strengthening the domestic milk value chain.
With daily milk servings and coordinated monitoring with DepEd and the local government, the program aims to improve nutrition outcomes while building stronger community-based support systems for young learners.
