Many Filipino commuters face major difficulties securing rides, with long waits, frequent driver cancellations, and rising fares making even short trips stressful. This challenge grows as demand outpaces available ride-hailing supply during busy hours, compounding struggles with Metro Manila’s severe traffic—TomTom’s 2025 Traffic Index shows local motorists lost an average of 143 hours to congestion, ranking the Philippines as Asia’s most congested country.
Lalamove addresses these issues through Lalamove Ride, its passenger transport service launched in February 2025. Operating within the same app already widely used for deliveries, the service gives commuters an extra dependable option without needing new software. The platform draws on more than 20,000 registered partner drivers to boost availability when demand peaks, easing what the company calls “booking fatigue” caused by repeated failed attempts to secure transport.
A key initiative introduced in December 2025 lets drivers keep 100 percent of their fares with no hidden terms or conditions, extended until the end of 2026. As the only local ride-hailing service offering this benefit, Lalamove says it encourages more drivers to accept bookings, directly improving chances for commuters to find rides. Users can select standard Car or larger Car XL options, with coverage spanning Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, and selected parts of Pampanga and Tarlac.
Safety measures include strict driver vetting, real-time tracking, 24/7 support, an SOS button, and accident insurance through Chubb. Until September 30, 2026, passengers joining the “Ride Your Way to Your Next Getaway” promo earn raffle entries for every completed trip, with a grand prize of a Japan trip for two. Eligible drivers taking part in the matching “Drive & Win a Family Trip to Boracay” promotion also get entries for completed rides, plus weekly ₱1,500 GCash draws.
