Petro Energy gets PCC nod to acquire Aklan wind project

Petro Energy Resources Corp. (PERC), led by the Yuchengco group, has secured clearance from the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) to take full ownership of the Nabas wind power project in Aklan.

The approval covers its purchase of the remaining 40 percent stake in PetroWind Energy Inc. from BCPG Wind Cooperatief U.A., bringing PERC’s total ownership to 100 percent. Valued at up to P1.9 billion, the deal gives PERC full control of the 49.2-megawatt facility. PERC already operates several other renewable energy projects across the country, including solar installations in Bohol, Nueva Ecija and Isabela, and a geothermal facility in Batangas.
