VinFast expands EV footprint with stronger support

VinFast Philippines is strengthening its foothold in the country’s growing electric vehicle (EV) market by expanding its dealership and after-sales network, betting that easier access to service, parts, and charging will help drive wider adoption.

The company’s full-service VinFast Marikina facility, opened in May with Xentro Motors OPC, offers a glimpse of that strategy. The 500-square-meter site in Marikina City combines vehicle sales, servicing, and spare parts under one roof.

The facility has three specialized service bays, a dedicated parts warehouse, wall chargers, and eight EV fast-charging machines, including two inside the dealership and six outside.

It also provides preventive maintenance, general repairs, detailing, body repair, insurance services, and other after-sales support.

For VinFast, expanding the support network is becoming as important as adding showrooms. As more Filipinos consider EVs, concerns about servicing, replacement parts, charging access, and technician expertise can weigh heavily on purchase decisions.

VinFast Philippines CEO Rhomel Franco said the Marikina facility reflects the company’s push to make electric mobility more accessible while giving customers dependable support close to home.

The company’s dealership network has now reached 36 locations nationwide, with additional sites planned in Fairview, Cagayan de Oro, Pasay, Batangas, and Kawit.

The expansion comes as VinFast approaches its second year in the Philippine market and faces a growing field of EV competitors. Rather than relying solely on vehicle sales, the company is building an ownership ecosystem that links dealerships, workshops, charging facilities, and parts availability.

That strategy could prove important in a market where EV adoption remains relatively young. A broader service network can reduce one of the biggest uncertainties for potential buyers, what happens after the car leaves the showroom.

For VinFast, the pitch is increasingly about more than the vehicle itself. The company is building the infrastructure around EV ownership, one dealership at a time.
