Public, private sectors boost Central Visayas PPP readiness

Public and private sector leaders gathered July 28–29, 2026 at Cebu Parklane International Hotel for the PPP Ready seminar, uniting to strengthen collaboration and speed up infrastructure development across Central Visayas.

Organized by DEPDev 7, the PPP Center, and Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC), the two-day event brought together LGU officials, planners, and practitioners from Cebu and Bohol to build institutional capacity under the Philippine PPP Code. RDC-IDC 7 Chair Anthony L. Noel emphasized that true public-private partnership relies on shared readiness and trust to deliver lasting community value. AIC First Vice President Christopher Camba noted the program equips local governments to turn priorities into bankable, high-impact projects.

Sessions covered project development, procurement, and emerging sectors including health, education, agriculture, and climate-resilient infrastructure. PPP Center executive director Rizza Blanco-Latorre stressed the goal: empowering LGUs to deliver investment-ready projects with technical support. Cebu governor Pamela S. Baricuatro and DEPDev Undersecretary Joseph J. Capuno highlighted PPPs’ critical role in inclusive growth and effective devolution.

The initiative advances a shared commitment to expand the region’s PPP pipeline, drive sustainable development, and deliver better public services.
