Proterial, AUSI seal 20-year clean energy PPA

Advent Upgrade Solar Inc. (AUSI) and Proterial Philippines Inc. have signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply solar power to Proterial’s LIMA Estate facility, marking the industrial park’s first ground-mounted solar project.

The deal will see AUSI build and operate a 1,587.20 kilowatt-peak solar photovoltaic system, with commercial operations targeted for the first quarter of 2027. The partnership advances Proterial’s carbon reduction and efficiency goals while supporting the country’s renewable energy transition.

“Through this collaboration, we reduce our carbon footprint, boost energy efficiency, and contribute to a sustainable energy future,” said Proterial Philippines president Yoshiaki Yamashita. “Renewable energy drives both environmental progress and long-term economic growth.”

Once operational, the system will avoid over 1,400 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually — around 28,000 tons over the agreement’s 20-year term. Proterial Philippines, formerly Hitachi Cable Philippines and an anchor LIMA Estate tenant since 1997, sets a new sustainability benchmark for the region’s industrial sector.

“Proterial is pioneering industrial sustainability in LIMA Estate,” said AUSI chairman and Upgrade Energy Philippines CEO Ruth Yu-Owen. “This project proves industrial growth and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.”

AUSI is a joint venture between AboitizPower Distributed Renewables and Upgrade Energy Philippines, delivering clean energy solutions to large industrial and commercial clients.
