50,000 housing units to be offered at National Housing Expo

At least 50,000 housing units will be offered to prospective homebuyers by more than 80 property developers at the government-led 2nd National Housing Expo 2026 on October 19 to 20 at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City, as the government seeks to widen access to homeownership through closer coordination between developers and housing finance institutions.

Organized by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and Pag-IBIG Fund, the two-day expo will bring housing projects and financing services together in one venue, allowing prospective buyers to compare properties, explore loan options and assess their capacity to purchase a home.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the expo would function as a one-stop shop where visitors could evaluate residential projects, select housing units and undergo on-site assessment by Pag-IBIG Fund to determine their loan eligibility and borrowing capacity.

The format is intended to reduce the steps involved in the homebuying process by giving families direct access to property developers and financing services. However, loan eligibility and the availability of housing units will remain dependent on individual circumstances and the terms of participating projects and financing packages.

The event supports the Marcos administration’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which aims to broaden access to affordable housing and encourage greater private-sector participation in residential development.

Aliling said the government was bringing housing services closer to Filipinos to help more families secure decent, safe and affordable homes.

The scale of the offering, with at least 50,000 units represented by more than 80 developers, provides prospective buyers with an opportunity to compare available properties and financing options in one setting. The number of units on offer, however, does not by itself indicate how many are affordable to low-income households or immediately available for occupancy.

For buyers, the practical considerations will include total acquisition costs, monthly amortization, down-payment requirements, location, construction status and the terms of financing. These factors will help determine whether the available units match household budgets and long-term needs.

The expo is part of the 2026 National Shelter Month celebration, themed “Tahanan. Pamayanan. Kinabukasan,” which highlights the role of housing in building sustainable communities and improving living conditions.

Admission is free. Prospective homebuyers are encouraged to register and explore participating developers’ housing projects and loan packages.

The expo will run from October 19 to 20 at Halls 2 to 4, Ground Floor, SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
