Globe Platinum rethinks iPhone launch: dining, community, no crowds

For years, new iPhone launches have meant long lines and midnight waits. This year, Globe Platinum transformed that tradition, turning the iPhone 18 release into an intimate celebration of innovation, dining, and community.

Instead of crowded stores, three simultaneous unboxing events were held in Manila, Cebu, and Davao on launch eve. Hosted at restaurants owned by fellow Platinum members—Chef Frances Tariga’s TAGLISH in Makati, Chef Jason Atherton’s The Pig & Palm in Cebu, and Anthony Ang’s Mori & Mill in Davao—the evenings combined exclusive dining with early device access.

Guests were among the first to receive the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, with flexible upgrades available through the iPhone Forever program.

“Being first shouldn’t mean compromising on experience,” said Globe Platinum Head Mark Pasaylo. “We wanted to give our customers something that truly reflects their lifestyle.”

The launch marks another milestone for Globe, which first brought the iPhone to the Philippines in 2008. More than a product release, it reflects what premium customers truly value: seamless service, respect for their time, and a genuine sense of community.
