PCPPI taps First Gen for renewable energy supply, strenghtening sustainable operations

Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) has sealed a partnership with the First Gen Group to power three of its manufacturing plants with geothermal energy, moving forward with its goal of cleaner and more responsible business operations. The agreement was formally signed during a ceremony last October 15, 2026, under which First Gen will supply around 11.35 megawatts of renewable power to PCPPI facilities in Sto. Tomas, Batangas; Rosario, La Union; and San Fernando, Pampanga. This deal forms a key part of the company’s wider plan to transition its 11 manufacturing sites nationwide toward renewable sources, cutting down dependence on conventional power and lowering its environmental footprint.

PCPPI President and CEO Chang Hwan Lee noted that business growth and sustainability go hand in hand, describing the partnership as an important milestone in making the company’s manufacturing operations more environmentally responsible. As the exclusive local manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages, PCPPI is taking visible steps to align large-scale food and beverage production with cleaner energy goals. For First Gen, the country’s top geothermal energy producer with more than 1,700 megawatts of installed capacity, the partnership underscores the growing role of reliable, round-the-clock renewable power in helping major Philippine corporations meet their sustainability targets. First Gen Chief Customer Engagement Officer Carlo Vega commended PCPPI’s long-standing efforts in water management, waste circularity, and environmental conservation, noting that supporting the company’s energy transition is a meaningful collaboration toward broader national climate action.
