The government will raise next week P45 billion through the auction of treasury bills and bonds for budgetary support.
The Bureau of the Treasury will hold an auction on Monday for a total P15 billion worth of three-, six- and 12-month treasury bills. It raised P19 billion this week also through treasury bill auction given strong demand from government securities dealers.
On Tuesday, the National Treasury will offer 7-year treasury bonds due January 2031.
The Bureau of Treasury will offer P30 billion worth of treasury bonds during the auction.
This year, the government projects the budget deficit narrowing to only P1.357 trillion from a projected P1.499 trillion in 2023. The government bridges the budgetary deficit with borrowings from both domestic and foreign capital markets.
