PNOC and Pertamina forge LNG and low carbon energy partnership

The Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) and PT Pertamina (Persero) of Indonesia have forged a partnership aimed at advancing energy collaboration in the ASEAN region. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore joint initiatives in liquefied natural gas (LNG), low-carbon energy solutions, and energy infrastructure development.

Oliver B. Butalid, president and CEO of PNOC, signed the MOU at PNOC headquarters in Manila, highlighting the partnership’s potential to strengthen energy security, boost economic growth, and support environmental goals for both nations. The agreement focuses on establishing LNG infrastructure and addressing growing energy demands, while also exploring innovations in hydrocarbon products, biofuels, and sustainable aviation fuel.

Butalid emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting that Pertamina’s expertise in LNG would complement PNOC’s energy initiatives. The MOU also includes knowledge-sharing on LNG supply chains, regasification, and energy market trends, alongside joint studies to explore logistics efficiencies and renewable energy opportunities.

The partnership is expected to foster job creation, innovation, and investment, benefiting both countries’ economies and contributing to a sustainable regional energy landscape.
