GCash, the country’s leading financial super app, announced a strategic partnership with Amesco Drug on Tuesday, aiming to enhance digital payment solutions across Mindanao. The partnership, formalized through a memorandum of agreement (MOA), will see GCash integrated as a payment option in all 42 Amesco Drug branches in Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, South Cotabato, and Surigao del Sur.
With the inclusion of GCash, Amesco Drug customers will have more convenient and secure options for managing healthcare expenses, including medicines and essentials. The collaboration also introduces flexible payment methods such as “Buy now, Pay later” through GCash’s GGives and GCredit features. This will allow customers to make urgent purchases in case of emergencies, enhancing accessibility for those in need.
Andrew Mark Uyboco, president of Amesco Drug, expressed optimism, saying, “We hope that through this partnership, with more accessible payment options through GCash and GCredit, we can achieve our mission to serve health and happiness to more people in Mindanao.”
GCash assistant vice president Kim Pineda emphasized the importance of the collaboration in promoting financial inclusion. “We are making it easier for Filipinos to access healthcare products and services, while also providing them with more flexible financial options,” he said.
This partnership underscores GCash’s commitment to bringing digital financial services closer to underserved communities, empowering Filipinos with tools to improve their quality of life and financial well-being.
