Philippine Airlines (PAL) has cemented its status as a leader in punctuality, securing an impressive seventh-place ranking among the most timely carriers in the Asia-Pacific region for 2024, according to the latest Cirium On-Time Performance Report. Notably, PAL was the only Philippine airline to make the top 10 in the region.
The report, which tracks over 112,000 flights across PAL’s global network, highlights the carrier’s on-time arrival rate of 76.06 percent for the year. In January 2024 alone, PAL achieved the top spot for punctuality, with an impressive 86.85 percent on-time performance.
“We greatly appreciate the recognition for the monumental efforts of our employees, service partners, and industry stakeholders in achieving this on-time performance milestone,” said Capt. Stanley K. Ng, president and chief Operating officer of Philippine Airlines. “This achievement affirms our ongoing investments in improving reliability, operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest safety standards.”
PAL’s top 10 ranking places it ahead of many prominent carriers from Southeast Asia, China, Korea, and Australia, underscoring the airline’s competitive edge in an increasingly challenging industry landscape.
As one of the longest-standing and most reputable authorities in aviation analytics, Cirium’s report reflects a rigorous evaluation of airline punctuality over more than 16 years, further reinforcing PAL’s commitment to operational excellence in the global aviation market.
