Maynilad Water Services Inc., the largest private water concessionaire in the Philippines, executed P25.75 billion in capital projects throughout 2024, focusing on significant improvements in water supply and sewerage systems. A major portion of the spending, P7 billion, went toward enhancing the sewerage infrastructure, including the construction of the Caloocan and Las Piñas Water Reclamation Facilities (WRF), as well as upgrading seven wastewater treatment plants in key areas such as Muntinlupa, Pasay, Quezon City, and Manila to meet government standards.
In addition, Maynilad allocated P6.5 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of vital water facilities, including the Poblacion water treatment plant and the Parada pumping station. The company also invested in expanding its pipeline network, notably in Morong, Rizal, in preparation for future water supply from the Kaliwa Dam.
A substantial P6 billion was dedicated to the company’s non-revenue water (NRW) reduction program, which involved replacing 142 kilometers of aging pipes and recovering 158 million liters of water daily. The company also committed P4.4 billion to the development of small-scale water treatment facilities tapping alternative water sources in Cavite.
Maynilad president and CEO, Ramoncito Fernandez, reiterated the company’s commitment to providing reliable water services and ensuring long-term sustainability amidst growing demand and climate challenges. The company is also planning to invest an estimated P30 billion in 2025 for continued water and wastewater projects.
Serving a large customer base across Metro Manila and Cavite, Maynilad’s ongoing capital investment underscores its commitment to improving water and sanitation infrastructure for millions of customers.
