    Duterte arrest boosts allies Senate bid

    The latest Pulse Asia survey shows former President Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest boosted allied senatorial bets, especially actor Philip Salvador, whose voter preference jumped 10.2 points to 30.2 percent, entering the Magic 12. The March 23–29 poll followed Duterte’s arrest for crimes against humanity tied to his drug war. Senator Bong Go gained 3.8 points to lead with 61.9 percent, while Bato dela Rosa rose 4.4 points to 48.7 percent. Despite leading hearings on Duterte’s case, Senator Imee Marcos fell 3.3 points to 27.6 percent, slipping behind Bam Aquino, who rose to 28.6 percent.
