The Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands (CCPI), the country’s oldest business institution, is set to mark two landmark events on 30 April 2025, underscoring its enduring influence on the Philippine economic landscape.

In a ceremony at its historic headquarters in Intramuros, Manila, the CCPI will officially launch its legacy book titled “From Chamber History to Navigating the Future: From 8 Epochs to Economic Compass Pillars 5 (ECOMP-P5).”Spanning 139 years of Philippine economic history, the book highlights the Chamber’s foundational role since its establishment in 1886 and aims to serve as a strategic framework for future economic direction.

Coinciding with the launch, CCPI will confer its prestigious Exemplar Awards on Ramon S. Ang, president and COO of San Miguel Corp., and on the conglomerate itself. The awards recognize outstanding corporate leadership and sustained contributions to national industrial growth and development.

Key attendees include Spanish ambassador Miguel Utray, U.S. Embassy commercial counselor Paul Taylor, and representatives from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and San Miguel Corp.

The event emphasizes the chamber’s continuing relevance in the country’s commercial evolution while celebrating one of the Philippines’ most influential corporate leaders.
