PAL flies Manila–Puerto Princesa route on widebody jets starting Dec. 17

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) will begin using a larger Airbus A330-300 on its Manila–Puerto Princesa flights starting December 17, to boost travel to Palawan’s capital with more seats and upgraded comfort.

The aircraft has 363 seats: 18 in Business Class, 33 in Comfort Class, and 312 in Economy. PAL will operate the widebody jet on the route three times a week—every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

PAL senior vice president for operations Capt. Roland Narciso said the shift to a widebody aircraft will improve efficiency, customer experience, and travel access for Palawan residents. The airline is coordinating with airport authorities to ensure a smooth transition.

Fares start at a promotional base price of P688 one-way. International travelers can also easily connect to Puerto Princesa via PAL’s Manila hub.

The move increases not only passenger capacity but also cargo space, helping businesses ship goods more efficiently. PAL already uses A330s across its domestic and international network.

Puerto Princesa is the gateway to the famous Underground River, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. PAL operates out of hubs in Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao, serving 31 domestic and 39 international destinations.
