The Australian Table Grape Association (ATGA) is bullish on the Philippines as a cornerstone market for 2026, citing sustained demand and a growing appetite for premium imported fruit.
The country has steadily climbed the ranks of Australia’s top table grape destinations, underpinned by expanding retail channels and increasingly discerning consumers.
ATGA data shows the Philippines was the third-largest importer of Australian table grapes in 2025, with shipments reaching 9,569 tons—up 12 percent from 8,544 tons in 2024. The industry group expects this upward trajectory to continue, driven by strong supply, a widening portfolio of grape varieties, and consistent demand for quality produce.
“The Philippines continues to be one of our most important and valued export markets,” said Jeff Scott, pointing to the country’s resilience and growth potential.
To kick off the 2026 season, ATGA staged a high-profile launch event in the Philippines, convening key retailers and industry stakeholders. Attendees included representatives from The Marketplace, Shopwise, Robinsons Supermarket, S&R, Landers, Metro Supermarket, and Joel’s Place. The event featured tastings of the latest harvest and previews of upcoming retail campaigns.
Spotlight varieties included Midnight Beauty, Crimson, and Ivory, alongside new seedless red and black grapes showcased in curated dishes and desserts. Scott described the crop as exceptional, crediting favorable growing conditions for delivering fruit that is larger, sweeter, and visually striking.
ATGA also unveiled “Gary the Grape,” a new mascot set to anchor consumer marketing initiatives across the Philippines in 2026, reinforcing brand visibility and strengthening ties with Filipino shoppers.
