PAL to resume Manila-Sapporo fligjts in November, expanding Japan network and trade links

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced it will bring back seasonal nonstop flights between Manila and Sapporo starting November 23, 2026, for the winter 2026 travel season. The service will run three times weekly until March 26, 2027, marking a key expansion of the carrier’s operations and connectivity between the Philippines and Japan.

Sapporo is fast becoming a top winter destination, known for high-quality powder snow, scenic landscapes, famous festivals such as the Snow Festival, and a diverse food scene. This new direct route offers travelers a convenient alternative to traditional Japanese holiday spots, delivering a more relaxed and immersive seasonal experience without the hassle of connecting flights. Flights are scheduled for efficiency: morning departures from Manila arrive in Sapporo by midday, while return flights leave in the afternoon, helping visitors make the most of their trip time.

PAL will operate the route using its modern A321neo aircraft, featuring full-service amenities including Business Class seats, inflight entertainment, Wi-Fi, and premium onboard service tailored for medium-haul travel. As the Philippine carrier with the widest reach in Japan, PAL already flies nonstop to Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Tokyo Haneda, and Tokyo Narita, plus direct services from Cebu to Osaka and Tokyo.

To meet peak holiday demand, the airline will also add more flights on its Manila-Osaka and Manila-Narita routes from December 19, 2026, to January 11, 2027.

Beyond boosting tourism, the resumption of Manila-Sapporo flights strengthens economic ties by increasing cargo capacity between the two countries, supporting growing trade and goods movement needs. This move reinforces PAL’s role as a vital link for travel and commerce between the Philippines and Japan.
