TELUS Digital Philippines is accelerating the rollout of artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations, betting that responsible AI adoption and workforce upskilling will become key competitive advantages as businesses increasingly embrace automation.
The company has deployed its proprietary Fuel iX platform across its Philippine operations, giving employees access to AI tools within a secure environment designed to protect data privacy and support responsible AI governance.
The expansion comes as AI adoption in the Philippines remains in its early stages. A study by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies found that only a small share of local businesses use AI, with skills gaps, governance concerns and infrastructure constraints slowing wider adoption.
TELUS Digital said it is pairing technology investments with employee training through AI hackathons, AI-powered learning tools and simulation platforms that help workers build practical skills and improve customer interactions.
The company is also using AI to streamline internal operations. It said the technology cut by 70 percent the time needed to analyze more than 15,000 employee survey comments, allowing human resources teams to focus on implementing workplace initiatives instead of manual data processing.
“Even with the right technology in place, adoption doesn’t happen on its own,” said Anne Munoz, country vice president of TELUS Digital Philippines.
“People need to understand why it matters, feel confident using it, and trust that it’s being used responsibly,” she said.
Beyond its own operations, the company is helping build the country’s AI talent pipeline through partnerships with the Department of Education and the Aboitiz Foundation, providing educators with hands-on training on AI applications in the classroom.
The initiative reflects a broader push by technology firms to embed AI across business functions while preparing employees and institutions for an increasingly AI-driven economy.
