Smart Communications, Inc. has expanded its 4G/LTE network across the province, launching 11 new cell sites in the municipalities of Maribojoc and Antequera.
The rollout forms part of parent PLDT Group’s commitment to support the national government’s digitalization goals and bring better internet access to more communities nationwide.
The improved coverage will serve subscribers of both Smart and its value brand TNT. It is also expected to boost local livelihoods, help grow the tourism sector, support distance learning efforts, and strengthen disaster preparedness and response in the two towns.
“As a telco, our mission is to connect every Filipino. We want places like Antequera and Maribojoc to be more visible—not just across Bohol, but to the rest of the country and the world,” said Debbie Hu, first vice president and group head of Smart Wireless Network.
“We hope residents make the most of these new sites. It is truly heartening to see the appreciation and support from the communities we serve,” Hu added.
Smart noted that its ongoing investments in network infrastructure align with the PLDT Group’s broader drive to deliver consistent, high-quality connectivity to Filipino customers.
