The Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Environmental Management Bureau has scheduled public scoping sessions for the 200 megawatt wind farm spanning across the Laguna municipalities of Kalayaan, Lumban, Paete, and Cavinti. Led by the Laguna Philippines Renewable Corp., an affiliate of Envision Energy Philippines Corp., the project seeks to tap the area’s wind resources to generate clean power for the Luzon grid. While no exact cost was disclosed, the initiative supports the country’s shift to renewable energy, cut greenhouse gas output, and lower reliance on fossil fuels. Initial assessments point to promising wind conditions, though final feasibility will depend on detailed engineering, environmental, and social impact reviews. Parent firm Envision Group is a global green technology leader with roughly 100,000 MW of installed wind capacity worldwide, spanning Asia, Europe, and other markets. The project comes as official data show the Philippines with 450 MW of on-grid wind capacity as of March 2026, making up just 1.4 percent of the national power mix. All existing wind facilities are located over land.
