Clark International Airport’s private operator is betting that the future of aviation lies beyond the runway.
Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) Corp. has unveiled the 759-hectare Clark AeroDistrict, a masterplanned airport city designed to transform Clark into the country’s next-generation aviation and logistics hub while attracting investments in manufacturing, trade, cargo and commercial development.
The project positions Clark International Airport as more than a passenger gateway, integrating aviation, logistics, cargo operations and mixed-use developments into a single economic ecosystem.
“Clark International Airport has always been more than an airport. It is a gateway that connects people, businesses, and opportunities,” LIPAD President and Chief Executive Officer Noel Manankil said.
“With Clark AeroDistrict, we are building on that vision by creating the Philippines’ first world-class airport city. We want Clark to become a leading hub for aviation, logistics, business, and investment, while helping drive economic growth for the country,” he added.
Masterplanned by global infrastructure consultancy AECOM, the development includes dedicated zones for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities, general aviation, cargo and freight operations, commercial districts and future airport expansion.
The initiative reflects a broader shift in airport development, where major aviation gateways are increasingly evolving into integrated business and logistics centers that generate economic activity well beyond air travel.
Located within the Clark Freeport Zone, the AeroDistrict offers investors access to investment incentives, streamlined business processes and government-owned land ready for development, giving it an edge in attracting export-oriented industries and logistics operators.
Backed by the LIPAD consortium comprising Changi Airports International, JG Summit Holdings, Filinvest Development Corp. and Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions (PAGSS), the project is expected to strengthen supply chains, expand cargo connectivity and reinforce Clark’s role as a strategic gateway for domestic and international trade.
As manufacturers diversify supply chains and e-commerce drives demand for faster freight movement, LIPAD sees Clark AeroDistrict positioning the Philippines to compete more aggressively with regional airport cities that have become magnets for investment, logistics and high-value industries.
