Young Filipino agripreneurs complete Singapore innovation workshop

Seventeen young agripreneurs from the Department of Agriculture’s Young Farmers Challenge have finished a five-day agribusiness and technology training program in Singapore. The boot camp helped build their business skills, introduced new farming technologies, and showed them Singapore’s advanced food production systems to make their ventures ready for investment. During the event, Bluecrust from Central Visayas took first place, Cher Cacao Products from Negros was second, and Egginear Agri-Poultry from Mimaropa placed third in business presentations. Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. said the program supports the next generation of farm leaders, with follow-up coaching from Singapore’s Republic Polytechnic continuing after their return. The Young Farmers Challenge, launched in 2021, has already helped start over 4,300 youth-led agricultural businesses, as the country works to modernize the sector and raise the share of younger farmers.
